BoatListr is a marketplace for buying and selling boats. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account info — your name, email, password (hashed), and optional address and phone number when you register.
- Listing content — boat details, photos, and videos you upload when creating a listing.
- Payment info — billing is handled by Stripe; we never see your card number, only the subscription status and Stripe customer ID.
- Usage data — basic server logs (IP, timestamp, page) so we can keep the site secure and working.
How we use it
- To run the marketplace — show your listings, let buyers contact you, send password resets and inquiry emails.
- To process Premium subscriptions through Stripe.
- To investigate abuse and keep the platform safe.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who sees what
Your name, listing details, and uploaded photos are public once a listing is active. Your email address is never shown to other users — buyer inquiries are routed through us and arrive in your inbox with the buyer set as Reply-To.
Storage and security
Account data lives in our database; uploaded media is stored on Amazon S3. Passwords are salted and hashed. We use HTTPS for all traffic. No system is perfect — but we take reasonable steps to protect what you send us.
Your rights
You can edit your profile, change your password, or delete your account from the dashboard. If you delete your account, your listings and uploaded media are removed too. Email us if you need help with any of this.
Changes
If we update this policy, we'll change the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be communicated by email or a notice on the site.
